OOh, a shiny new forum, i recognise a few faces.

I will be attending the 40k day (when they actually put the tickets up for sale!!)

Entering vehicle and maybe single, but might leave that alone and concentrate on getting my vehicle entry as good as i can.

Heya!

I'm coming all the way from Australia! It's a bit of a pilgrimage for me to see the exhibition and also enter a diorama and probably a vehicle.

Would love any advice for people who've travelled there before . . . I can get myself to London fine, but I don't know much about accommodation in the area or getting tickets to the event etc.

Welcome! Sounds great! Can't wait to see what you paint mate!

Oh wow that's fantastic man! So I won't be the person doing the most miles :D

You can get your tickets from London to Nottingham here:

https://www.thetrainline.com/book/results?origin=12467098b25d58495241bae921c0f272e171c47f&destination=489c2c8ebd052d8d02a022940c53b10c739c318a&outwardDate=2018-11-23T10%3A30%3A00&outwardDateType=departAfter&journeySearchType=return&passengers%5B%5D=1988-10-01&inwardDate=2018-11-26T09%3A00%3A00&inwardDateType=departAfter

Not sure that the link will work but you can just use the site and pick the dates you want.

Also, I would deffo recommend using airbnb for the stay in Nottingham, I always use it and get great rooms for fair prices.

When you get to Nottingham - get a cab to the flat you rent or walk. If you decide to take a cab - the cabs on the train station probably wont rip you off, I've actually found them cheaper than UBER!

The Warhammer World isn't super far away from the city center but I'd definitely recommend taking a cab there.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

Oh and post your wip! We want to see what you're bringing! :)

Sadly I'm not going. I want to spend a bit of time increasing my skill and confidence level before I start to show case anything. Though I am looking forward to seeing all the finished entries.

I asked them in a FB comment today and they said in the next week or two, something about getting everything bang on before releasing.

I mentioned that travel expenses only get dearer the nearer the event gets.....

Yeah I'm planning on only going for the GD day. I'm fairly sure it's always on the Sunday.

Hey all, the tickets for the Open Day just went up for sale. I bought mine for the Saturday, which I assume is what one does, but not for the Sunday of the weekend because that’s a tournament entry.

So tickets on sale, and well done GW, put the GD event on the saturday, for the first time ive ever seen it on that day.

So now i have to change my hotel bookings late, top marks. itll be more expensive now as its 2 peak rate nights, not one peak and one cheap (sunday)

BY THE WAY!

How about we do the old-school afterparty?

You see, in the past, there was a tradition of people attending the Golden Demon getting together after the competition to have drinks, some food, celebrate their wins, have a closer look at the models and so on.

Probably that's because people used to come to the demons from all around the world and wanted to spend more time with other awesome people :)

I've been to 5 demons and never seen anything like that. Oh wait, I remember one afterparty but it was in 2008 and I was a YoungBlood so my apple juice wasn't really that cool! haha :P

What do you guys think?

I am always up for a meet up, either in Bugmans after or a closeby watering hole. I am staying in the premier INN Marina, which has a few food places nearby, but were talking frankie and bennys, but dont know when bugmans shuts?
