To be quite honest with you, I have never tried using my phone for uploading pics here... :(

Try it from your PC?

How are you uploading? I use a URL and put it in between

So it would look like that:

Should work!

Shocked it didn't place mate, really stunning work!

Hope to see more of your work!

How about we do the old-school afterparty?

You see, in the past, there was a tradition of people attending the Golden Demon getting together after the competition to have drinks, some food, celebrate their wins, have a closer look at the models and so on.

Probably that's because people used to come to the demons from all around the world and wanted to spend more time with other awesome people :)

I've been to 5 demons and never seen anything like that. Oh wait, I remember one afterparty but it was in 2008 and I was a YoungBlood so my apple juice wasn't really that cool! haha :P

What do you guys think?

So you got the tickets for the Warhammer 40,000 Vigilus Open Day?

Yeah weird that its on Saturday  ???

Asked GW about details, will let you guys know ASAP.

Wonder if that means we wont get no more mini Demons...

This is the place to share your GD thoughts, ideas and what not!

NOTE: You can't use swear words here, let's be kind to each other and keep it family friendly. This doesn't mean no fun - just keep it civil!

We hope that here you will be able find answers, get all the advice needed or just have fun!

Advice / Re: Non-Standard Painting Techniques

Is there a rule on whether you can enter something in more than one competition? Like say, Armies on Parade locally, then bring the same diorama for the Unbound category in Golden Demon?

Nope, you can enter a mini to the Golden Demon no matter how many non GD awards you got for it. And you can re enter miniatures, that you've previously entered, as long as they didnt place in the Golden Demon before.

Advice / Re: Bases and transport

I use custom made wooden boxes that fit every entry individually. My friend does them for me but I'm sure you can order these locally wherever you live.

I always use plinths for the competition pieces so I just screw the model (by the plinth) to the wooden box and never ever worry about my mini again :)

You don't need a wooden box, just anything like that will work, just open your mind and you will find something fitting!

Thanks for the info mate!

I am so sure you will get a finalist (at least) if you continue that way, really great job!

All tho I am pretty certain that if you have a vehicle and a single model on the same base - it will be moved to the open category. But you have to check that info - I'm not 100% positive on that.

Keep up the great work!

Wow mate that looks proper cool!

Love that Primus! Will be hopefully soon painting one myself :)

Love the weathering!

I'm particularly interested in the green thingie - how did you do the weathering?

OOh, a shiny new forum, i recognise a few faces.

I will be attending the 40k day (when they actually put the tickets up for sale!!)

Entering vehicle and maybe single, but might leave that alone and concentrate on getting my vehicle entry as good as i can.

Welcome! Sounds great! Can't wait to see what you paint mate!

I'm coming all the way from Australia! It's a bit of a pilgrimage for me to see the exhibition and also enter a diorama and probably a vehicle.

Would love any advice for people who've travelled there before . . . I can get myself to London fine, but I don't know much about accommodation in the area or getting tickets to the event etc.

Oh wow that's fantastic man! So I won't be the person doing the most miles :D

You can get your tickets from London to Nottingham here:

Not sure that the link will work but you can just use the site and pick the dates you want.

Also, I would deffo recommend using airbnb for the stay in Nottingham, I always use it and get great rooms for fair prices.

When you get to Nottingham - get a cab to the flat you rent or walk. If you decide to take a cab - the cabs on the train station probably wont rip you off, I've actually found them cheaper than UBER!

The Warhammer World isn't super far away from the city center but I'd definitely recommend taking a cab there.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

Oh and post your wip! We want to see what you're bringing! :)
