Still very undecided here. I might end up going alone which is less fun and I have nothing prepped right now as I've been painting non GW stuff lately (shame)

I like it, though I feel like with your skills, you could push it even further (beyond contrast). It's a pretty big arm and the surfaces are wide enought... I don't know, a tattoo ? hairs ? bruises ? I'm not sure and it's hard to tell with the shirt being blank too.

where is the online voting taking place ? I keep seeing stuff on instagram and no link found yet :(

I so want to enter but it's too hot to paint at home (or to get motivated to pain)... Anyone got tips ?

Hey guys,

I have absolutely no conviction of winning anything for the everchosen plus, I'll be away at the time but my local warhammer store manager was kind enough to accept to keep it around before the actual day so I might as well participate.
The competition seems to be focused on currently sold miniatures so I chose the cheap knight incantor, I like the pose and I'm sure I can do something with the base. Anywho, I decided to opt out of my comfort zone and try my hand with lots of new stuff.
First of all, NMM:

This is really just the beginning. I'm not liking it too much for now, it looks not reflective enough. But I don't know how to do that and have a "general light" on the mini at the same time. So, I'm thinking I'll paint it as is and then do touch ups afterwards.
You can also see that the primer **** it up really bad and I have no idea why :'( Strangely enough, it is a lot less visible when painted over, as if the paint somehow smoothed it Oo

Hello,

With all they said about adepticon and everchosen and now this : https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/05/14/a-summer-of-warhamer-eventsgw-homepage-post-3/ does not mention fest europe. I think it's safe to say we won't get a fest europe this year :'(

No offence taken, don't worry.

I completely get the "wall" sensation of the contest though. I saw on warhammer community judges are supposed to be available for questionning but I can't find the article so it may be wishful thinking :/

Thanks for the info about the various techniques used.

I hope everything goes well with your commission work and at home :)

Really nice !

Is the texture on the pants stippling ?
Aren't you worried the yellow is too bright ? It's gorgeous but it really pops and the character looks very grimdark

Love the yellow! I'd this going to be an ambot?

Nice work man !

Maybe you could push the lights around the face to draw the eye in a bit more ?
The base looks lovely, do you have a pic of it from above ?

Well, I ended up pushing myself just to finish it and start something else so Harker is a bit less refined than the eldar but here is the finished duel (maybe I should post in finished instead ?)

Harker:

Sergeant harker, who is so much of a pain to paint.

I don't know if it's the metal cast or what but there are so many small and deep recesses. Plus I glued the gun on and this makes a lot of stuff complexe to reach but that's on me.
